Description
Summary:"This thesis investigated the cognitive consequences of bilingualism. Additionally, it sought to find the tangible outcomes of these consequences and to whom these consequences apply. More than thirty scientifically-based research studies relating to the topic were reviewed. The investigations found that there are several positive consequences of bilingualism, including: enhanced metalinguistic abilities, higher cognitive functioning abilities, and superior creative and divergent thinking and problem solving abilities. The results also exemplified that tangible outcomes of these abilities do exist, and that the benefits of bilingualism mainly apply to balanced bilinguals."--leaf 4.
