To the honorable the representatives of the freemen of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met : The petition of the subscribers, respectfully sheweth, that in the early stages of the independence of the United States, it was thought adviseable by the legislature of the commonwealth, to impose a test of abjuration and allegiance on the inhabitants of this state.
