Summary:The four characters are basic commedia dell'arte figures. The Barone is the last member of a once rich aristocratic family; over the years he has squandered the family fortune. As a young man, Barone Asura proposes to the rich and beautiful Beatrice, but leaves her before the wedding. The girl sets off to find her unfaithful fiancé and make him keep his promise. Lenina and Giocondo, a young village couple, have similar problems.
